Question
Can you make a separate mod (Or does one already exist?) that includes only the Mecharachnid and not the mission to get it? I don't want to lose characters, but I really want to try outthe mech.

yeah. the boss fight is terrible. it hits you where you were 5 seconds ago so dodging is useless.
also why no healing with an undodgable attack?
