Well, there is that. But what do you need from the mod to spawn them in the normal way?
A bit of luck mostly. Avali containers have the tags Avali and Storage.
So, in adding things up, the Avali score out-weighs the Storage score needed for the merchant (because you've probably used an Avali light and an Avali bed), and you'll get a few dozen normies before your first merchant.
Try using non-avali Storage items, prefereably a blend of them so no other race gets a high enough score to contest the Avali one.
So I should use like say one wooden box, one avali storage container and I would be set?
That's what I did when I took over an Avian Airship, and the Avali merchant spawned just fine. (wasn't the gun-merchant I really wanted, but her was good enough to keep.)
If that doesn't do it, try adding Avali decorative stuff. (tables, cushions, shelves, etc, ...)
Cool. And I even downloaded a mod that added in more kinds of colony deeds so I can have a Avali themed deed to fit the room.
I personally think a desk and a hanging storage looks the best even if it isn't the most resource or space-efficient.
I know this is an old thread but it's also the first google result in looking for furniture for Avali merhcants so I thought I would leave this comment here in case someone else comes by with the same question.
