FU for new/returning player
Haven't played the game since 2017 and never tired FU before. Was wondering if it is going to overwhelm me with stuff to the point where I won't know what to do or if it is a good mod for new characters/playthroughs.

Was bored and couldn't believe this mod has still been getting regular updates after all these years. Starbound is one of those games I think about a lot.

It's going to overwhelm you to the point where you won't know what to do.
You're also going to ask vanilla related questions thinking it's included in the mod, something that some people REALLY HATE
So get familiar with vanilla again for a bunch of hours and come back, because you're not going to enjoy this mod if you don't know about the basics and most particularities of the base game
