Really tough choosing a Race ~ Help.
I haven't played the base game races reworked within fracking yet, any noticeable life changing experiences worth noting there?

So far i did get as far as dark biomes on a Tenebrhae (shadow people)

As far as the ocean biomes on the skath.

And as far as the cold biomes on one of the dragon races eldar or something.

Yesterday i tried the psychic race, can't remember the name, they start with a skill that lets them damage enemies and mine using energy, and it's damage is supposed to scale from max defense and energy, does it get really strong, like stronger then a maxed MM?

Ideally i want to get a maxed protectorate ship, and build a large sci-fi facility on the starting planet and then a super large underwater facility on an ocean planet. Playing as a race that involves the funnest unique weapon types and preferably aimed at endgame staff/magic type weaponry.

Any tips on which race would be appreciated.

I'm currently playing a Pharitu (psychic race); the racial tech seems to be an advantage in the early game, and less important as you progress. It does scale to some degree. It's very handy for harvesting soft materials like silt or mud, or for phase-attacking creatures on the other side of a stout wall (you don't want to destroy the wall). Phasing creatures will be pulled right through a wall, so be ready for that.

The Pharitu burn immunity is also nice (standing on hot rocks doesn't burn you; you take fire damage passing through flame but not burn damage over time, and you can eat spicy foods without getting their burn effect.) I also like the races that can eat anything, and the Pharitu are that.

You might check out Slimes. They have an immunity to poison, which is a very common environment hazard early on. They have a nice progression of armors (though any race could use them). And they have a constant regen, which means you don't need as much healing. They get hungry fast, though, so it's a trade-off.

Yeah i decided to continue my Pharitu too, i named him alakazam. I'm just casually working through the frackin quests and relearning everything frackin while enjoying this character.

I looked at slimes and thought maybe, i'm also considering the frackin version of avians.

I've tried many Frackin/Supported Races, but currently playing the Angel Race from Angels of Starbound mod. Before the stat revamp, I played a lot of glitch/novakid, human a few times, and nightar, plus several others. You can easily get waterbreathing/poison immunity on other races, and equip staff/wand amplified armor sets for those kinds of playstyles to broaden your race pool but if the racial themes are that important to you, Skath/Avian are probably what you are looking for. Shadow Race is really fun, but you have to manage the light levels with them.

It should be noted that Novakids can eat anything, are immune to burn, and have good Fire and high Radiation resist for those kinds of worlds but they only get bonuses from guns.

I Settled on the FU version of Apex, because instead of weapon bonuses, they use all tech more efficiently and have +1 max radius on the MM.

After getting started and rushing to tungsten, i turned my frackin apex ship into a huge lab based ship, filled it with every crafting station in the hull setup to look like a factory and infirmary, with a crews quarters and kitchen and a computer room, a huge room filled with containers for each worlds loot, a larger front to the ship decorated with turrets.

I think of it as my apex flying lab, decorated in varying decorations scavenged from apex lab dungeons and labs. So it looks more like a science vessel rather then a apex space ship.

Because of their racial biome bonus, once i find a threat level 4-5 rainforest with 50% rain and 50% luminus rain, near either a friendly apex lab or an apex city, i'll build a huge futuristic city made with tungsten blocks, smooth metal walls, light sliding doors, sloped glass blocks, bunker vents, rusty vents, pipes, various plants, medical signs, medical shelves, computers and lab equipment.

I'll build a huge factory for building, mech, starship construction as well as resource sifting and fuel refining, electrical parts and power.

A huge library for research and storage of all discovered books, and building robots.

A massive kitchen and produce centre filled with hydroponic fruits and vegetables and animal pens all self sustained with a massive beehive chamber, including all kitchen with all appliances for food preparation and preservation.

And a forge designed for weapon developments, armour and augments.

Then varying facilities for about 20 private bedrooms for tenants that are all LAB based for science based quests.

Finally a large tunnel with blast doors, with lights that only light up during detected proximity, leading to a guarded underground facility with several guards, a shopkeeper and 4 reinforced blast doors leading into a dark tunnel, where does it lead? A 1700 block jump down a long straight huge tunnel caked in flesh blocks and flesh background leading to a large collection of tentacle block and tentacle decorations and a large lake of blood, finally another set of blast doors on either side with turrets lead into the core with core frag farming and diamond searching and other materials to mass mine and then block sift/break for more.

An all apex/lab npc filled, advanced science facility near other npc neutral apex dungeon/towns on a rain forest rainy world for an apex player set in a science theme.
