Otherwise try verifying your game files...
Beyond that you need to give more information as to how the game is failing, such as what settings you are trying to play under... Have you tried different maps sizes, tried disabling all sub mods, etc?
Sounds like you're trying to load a map that is too large for your system to handle...
STNH is much harder on your PC than vanilla is as it does an awful lot more behind the scenes I find, not to mention the potential map sizes are immense compared to vanilla...
If it's taking 10+ minutes to load try scaling back your map size as you're probably over doing it... Loading off an SSD also helps immensely, if you're not already...
What are your PC specs, btw, for reference?
How long did you wait before giving up? As like said above the load time currently for a brand new game can take over 10 minutes unfortunately with the load bar staying in that 25% position most of that time.
Just roll back to 3.5.3, and disable the custom UI mods (since they have been updated), and it still works fine...
