Stats?
due to it's design and me just personally wanting this, how about the stats for this flamethrower , if it's not a reskin, be based mainly around buffing the airblast?
something like:
+? airblast force
-? airblast cost
-? afterburn damage
-? afterburn time
or something else along those lines.
Idk what do you guys think?

I would like that the weapon have as a recharger of compressed air, to push more and more away. A recharger like the Stickybomb Launcher. But it must cost (compress air) more munition.

Pros :
+50% Ammo Capacity
Chargeable Airblast : Hold Alt-Fire To Charge, Release To Airblast. Fully Charged Airblast Will Give Crit Instead Of Mini-Crit.
+25% Airblast Push Force

Cons :
-25% Damage
-50% Afterburn Damage
Charged Airblast Cost 50% More Ammo

How about a complete different airblast style?

Pros:
Holding the secondary attack button will constantly vacuum all proyectiles on the same range as airblast, disabling them.
After 5 seconds of not vacuuming nor firing. +40 ammo regen per second.
Vacuuming will extinguish teammates.

Cons:
Cannot get ammo from dispensers
Four times ammo consumption rate while vacuuming.
Vaccuming wont move the enemy players in any way.

Perfect tool for a pybro.
The firing flames aspect is remained untouched.

I like a lot of these ideas, and I really like the chargable airblast idea, but how about with that we add -? normal airblast force?

Im thinking...

Pros:
+25% airblast force
-15% airblast ammo cost
+50 ammunition

Cons:
-10% dmg.
no after burn

Statistics on how it looks:

Pros:
+20% Fire spread. (Left, right, up, down.)
+25% Airblast force.

Cons:
-15% Damage.
-20% Fire range. (Forward)

Valve like to add commuity items that have simple stats. Nothing over the top or it could be overpowered. So if you are trying to reinvent airblasting it's most likely not going to be accepted. And massively debuffing the attack is not a good thing for a primary. Also if it's in an item set it should work well with other items in that set. However I like the airblast idea. Here's what I think:

Pros:
+20% airblast force
+35% airblast speed
-50% Airblast cost

Cons:
-20% damage
-20% afterburn
-No random critical hits

20% variations are not too much of a difference, yet aren't too little to be irrelevant. And please tell me what you think.

I agree with xerathrox and your reasoning on why the stats are simple makes sense, althought recently valve has been adding weapons that add massive changes to the whole structure of the class they are for. Like the tide turner, airstrike, and B.A.S.E jumper, but I like your stats

In the review of the axe of the same set, I review it as a mix between Sun on a stick and axetinguisher but except working with fire it work with blood! So flying guillotine and boston basher would be new pyro's friend!


Primary stats would be this

Pros:

+100 ammo
+25% airblast force
+40% weapon swapping speed
When shooting fire, airblasting will shoot a fire ball that knock back everybody on a short distance in a large radius
When ennemy are in the air you gain a movement speed (10-20%)
Instea dof mini-crit on an ennemy coev rof jarate, you'll crit him!

Cons:

-25% damage
+30 ammo consumption when airblasted (50 per airblast)
Fireball cost 100 ammo
No afterburn
Can't extinguish teamate
No random crits
When set on fire by you, the ajrate will be removed

A nerfed weapon in term of damage but more defense/support weapon. Based on the airblast of Back Burner and nerfing of degreaser, it can be one of the ebst weapon in good hand! Now you'll be able to push them uber Heavy Medic duo from the objective and have a chance to win the game at the last second!

This would be similar to the degreaser but airblast upgrades instead of weapon swap speed:

50% larger airblast range and size
25% larger airblast force
25% less airblast cost
20% faster airblast firerate
25% more primary ammo
10-20% damage penalty
25% afterburn damage penalty
10-20% more flame ammo consumtion

This weapon would focus more on reflecting, extinguishing, and other weapons rather than W+M1 tactics. Would work well with the reserve shooter

Pros: Flames last twice as long and cannot be doused by Mad Milk, Jarate or water (Only health packs, Medics and airblasts from friendly Pyros)

Cons: 20% slower attack speed
50% less distance from airblasts
