Visuals for ABA
Here I will post my current work for feedback and ideas before it makes it into the mod. Keep the feedback coming so I can get better at it :)

I'll edit this post with each weeks work when I have something to show, so everytime it will get updated to the first post instead of getting lost in the comments.

EDIT: Updated with MECs, deleted previous pics because the new ones weren't showing

Working on the MECs currently. I upload here some renders from Substance Painter so I hopefully get some feedback. Once I'm fine with how they look (depending on feedback) I'll get them ingame to see if they're working.

So... To start off, here's the Autodoc:

And here's the Hazard MEC. They green is there because, poison. Should it be more bright?

Sorry for the imgur uploads but steam didn't want to upload them properly :(

One thing I don't like on the Hazard MEC is the head. While I'm fine with the rest of the body being dark grey and the armor being green, I don't like the head. I tried to make it green as well but I ended up with too much green. Any ideas?

Oh wow that's beautiful!

I'm not sure how well it will translate in game with the zoomed out perspective, but if you just make the light red on the hood in particular brighter repeatedly I'm fairly confident it will look appealing from far away without sacrificing the nice close up.

It's a screenshot by night, but it should give you an impression on how the beast looks ingame:

Thanks for the input. And from DerBK's screenshot it doesn't look like the red lines on the armor are visible enough... Should I make them glowing? But considering the large amount of lines there it'd be too much tron-like.

The lines are visible enough. Making them thicker or glowing would probably look awkward in the close up sequences on reveal.

It's a terrible screenshot ;)

That new Archon looks sinister enough to make a good Archon Torcher. I like it.
For the other two:
One of them, the Archon Executioner, will be using that custom staff you are making. So the color of the armor and of the weapon should be similar.
Not sure what would be good for the last one, the Archon Sentinel. The last couple of textures were darker than their vanilla originals, maybe use lighter colors for the Sentinel to mix things up a bit?

I bring gifts in the form of pretty pictures:

They both look cool! The Sentinel has sort a regal look about it, with the Torcher being more menacing and having a color that corresponds to its speciality. Thumbs up from me!

You should call the silver archons "bishop" because they look like they would be guarding the archon king

I like the Muton Prime's color scheme. Making his tattoos glow would be a very cool idea, but I think that making them red would make them blend too much with its armor, which is also red; I think that black or maybe a light blue would be a better choice. As for making them bigger, I think it would fit the unit pretty well, seeing a huge red and black Muton would instantly make players go "oh ♥♥♥♥". Now if only you guys could make it so that its followers are Muton Centurions instead of regular ones.......;)

One question though, is he wielding an Advent Mec's mag cannon?
DerBK  [udvikler] 28. maj 2016 kl. 5:44
That's a ADVENT cannon on the screenshot, one of the weapons from the Total Advent Weaponry mod by CMDBob.

Was an experiment, he will use a normal Muton gun. The Muton model has some animation issues with other weapons.

(I do like the idea of giving him the MEC Cannon, though. Especially if we end up scaling him bigger.)
