Greetings. I simply had the thought that maybe aquiring a regional monopoly on some type of goods or something similar might be an interesting event. Like, how the Byzantines originally were the only suppliers of Alum for Venetian Glass, but when the Ottoman Empire took over, they became the new suppliers until Alum was discovered in Italy.
