What submods do you have and are you on Win11? Recently there was some update to Win11 that casues battles to crash in Rome 2, does not impact all players but does impact some, otherwise this looks like mod conflict issue.

Having the same issue. Followed every single step of the guide and it only crashes when I have DEI on.

Currently running only 3 submods - all diplomatic options, no happiness penalty, & graphical mod, all DEI submods.

EDIT: I wasn't having this issue a couple of days ago, but I noticed my battles wouldn't load after I got this pop-up: Total War Rome II has detected some out-of-date mods, but in mod manager everything is updated.

I have this issue too, I´ve tried the tutorial and it still keeps not loading. The music plays, I see my and enemy forces, but it is stuck on one milimeter of bar. I have roman mosaic submod and historical expansion submod.

Try without any submods.

Hey Kam, turned off submods and it still doesn't work - strangely enough after playing around with it, I found a temporary solution.

Verify cache --> start w/o mods, enter custom battle, it works --> turn on mods and do the same.

Every couple hours the same issue would persist, and I re-do the steps above and it works.

Yeah not gonna be playing this until it's fixed - tried to follow the guide with the link you sent but none of it works. Even with submods disabled, I'm not able to get into a battle.

Historical battles don't even work anymore.

Strange but sadly nothing we cant fix in the mod itself as its not related to it.

I kinda fixed it, I did again the deletion of those files and I've disabled cloud storage. I deleted submods, and everythint works now...
