However, if besieged city has a port, you also need to block the port entrance or defenders simply get supplies by ships. This works the same as in the base game.
I was being besieged in Rome and the enemy didn't seem to lose any troops in the first two turns of the siege, dunno about after that since AI in my games usually doesn't wait more than two turns to begin the assault. It happened a few times too. The port stuff does make sense though for other situations I've had, so yeah, it could've just been me not paying close attention, thank you for the quick response.
