The Operant_LWOTC class breakdown
This class, internal name "Operant_Lwotc" is more 'semi-classless'.

The initial design for the class is based around "if you only have this class in your barracks, you can handle most situations competently". The idea was to create a 'standard soldier' that represented the full range of xcom classes and skills. A generalist that could easily slip into any squad comp. Essentially, you can build them as the "budget version" of any shadowops or lwotc base class.

The ranks are roughly defined as skill packages - not so much about the perks, but about the path the soldier takes to develop.

At LCPL you have your choice of basic identity:
Heavy, Finesse, or Precision. The heavy identity grants the soldier the ability to equip a cannon primary weapon and grants +1 HP.

The Finesse Identity allows the soldier to equip a shotgun and grants +1 Mobility.

The Precision identity allows the soldier to equip a sniper rifle and grants +5 Aim.

-

Each of the ranks provides perks, but more-so develop the soldier's style and identity.
Some ranks just provide a single useful perk, while others provide stat increases or additional unlocks.

The 'identities' themselves are configurable, so if you decide "Ordnance Training" should provide volatile mix instead of salvo, you can change that easily in the ini.

The Master SGT rank is actually three different random decks with 4-5 choices that can appear on each row. For example, Bulletstorm is a msgt ability that gives a full suite of suppression perks - but in order to take it, your soldier needs to have selected the Heavy Identity at LCPL. Some MSGT perks require certain combinations of rank selections, others do not. Since these perks are somewhat randomized, you'll always have a good reason to use diverse builds.

I tried to design these ranks in a way that a soldier will always be useful without outshining any of the standard classes.
