[Help] Mechanics and gameplay questions
loved this mod because it adds water. I also loved the buffs idea. But I’m not a hardcore player.

So my questions are, please:

1- You said that to eat or drink, the helmet must be opened. I can eat and drink with the helmet closed.
Is this a bug or is it not implemented yet?

2- The Basic Survival Kit isn’t healing. Okay. But I produced a "medkit" and it didn’t heal either. Which items do I need to craft to recover health, please?

3- I read that plants now need a pressurized and oxygenated environment. I’m playing on an Earth-like planet. Do I still need to pressurize the whole base and produce oxygen for the plants to grow? Because the atmosphere on an Earth-like planet already has oxygen.

4- The thirsty and hunger icons are appearing as very big red icons in the middle of the screen. Is this normal, or is it because I’m using another HUD mod?
I’m using: HUD Colors (Standalone).
I asked the author to make it compatible with Apex Advanced, and he replied that he’s working on it and will release it soon. It doesn’t have water bars yet, but the health and hunger bars work fine. I think lol—when I eat, the bar goes up as it should. The same with health. If I craft any food that restores health, the bars move a little. So I think it’s all right xD. Only the icons are extremely big and stay in the middle of the screen lol.

5- I’m using the Earthlike Animals mod to add more animals. But I noticed that even with a 32-animal spawn limit set in world settings before starting the game, there are so many wolves spawning at the same time, and they all attack me directly :P
Does Apex Advanced change spawns, or is this problem entirely the Earthlike Animals mod’s fault?

I love this mod, and it’s the main mod I need to play lol :D
Looking forward to updates so we can configure it a bit more, to make it a little less hardcore :D

Great to hear you enjoy the mod! It is, in fact, designed for a more hardcore playstyle, but the upcoming config update will bring settings you can use to tone down the difficulty.

Answering Your Topics
1. Consumables with Helmet
There are some items, like BioPaste, that can be consumed with your helmet on. You'll get food and water from it, but it's poor quality and causes high bloating. Are you consuming BioPaste or another specific food item?

2. Medical Room & Healing (settings ahead)
The Medical Room only heals in an oxygen environment and only up to 75% of your maximum health. Medkits have been nerfed (they heal less) but now give a good amount of Recovery. Use a Medkit, then lie in bed to rest and fully restore your health.

3. Farm Plots
Farm plots currently work just like the vanilla game, but with one key difference: they require Hydro Solution instead of plain water. (Further changes are on the To-Do list.)

4. Icons/HUD
The icons use the Rich HUD Framework, and no in-game HUD settings can change this. Do you feel they are too big? I can certainly make them smaller and will check if a config option is possible.

5. Respawn
APEX.Advanced! does not touch any respawn mechanics; it's possible another mod is causing that issue.

Amazing, thanks!!!

1- I looted some rations, pretty sure there r officials apex food, so maybe this is the cause i can eat with helmet closed. Im going test again, but i am pretty sure I can drink SparckleWater (is this name right?) the water of your mod with the helmet closed too. I never opened the helmet to eat or drink.

2- Nice xD But still the question, i am playing on earth planet and there r oxygen on atmos. So I need close and pressure the base, or I can use Medical room as the planet's atmos already have oxygen, please?

3- Okay, im going make Hydro Solution instead uses only ice xD

4- I play the game with 4K resolution, if u can put a setting to make it 60, 70% smaller will be perfect. Cause yeah, till i do not drink or eat the icon uses almost all the center of the game screen. Im going take a ss and post here to u see xD

5- Great. SO yeah it only can be Earthlike animal's mod. This is the only one i'm using that change the spawns. Or maybe small spiders. ^^

1. You could be lucky—some rations support closed helmet use. Simply check the item tooltip; every item is labeled correctly.

2. It depends on the weather. There are weather effects that drain oxygen, so it's safer to build a closed room for your MedBay.

4. The mod has been updated, and a configuration setting is now available.

Hi, i've got a question too.
my character vision start blinking, i suposed he may be tired and i read that we can rest in a cockpit. How does that work exactly? is there a special interaction or do i have to sit in my smallgrid cockpit and wait without touching anything? And how bad are the malus from sleeping here?

Also i don't understand Where can i check that window in your 6th screenshot.

Yep - blinking is regular sleep low effect
You get the gui with STRG+N

It is not able to regenerate in a cockpit, do you read that at a tooltip? Then I have to check the texts - sorry!
You need to sit on a chair or rest in cryo (worst) or bed (best)

lol i had the same xD I think the game was broken lol.

But @Sardaukai just to report, the drill still working even while down. The screen was all black, the message tells i lost conscience but the char still mining ;) Not a big problem btw ^^

Yeah, I know it's possible to "play" with a black screen. I could prevent that, but ultimately it creates more problems.

What if you don't get your controls back due to a desync or strange behavior? You would crash and lose your grid. I implemented a similar system in FSD: Engage (just for cockpit exits), and in my honest opinion, the risk is not worth it.

oh ok, seems like i misinterpreted your mod description:

"Action-Based Effects: Your character receives bonuses for resting in a chair or bed. Conversely, there are negative effects (malus) for eating or 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐩𝐢𝐭"

I thought you could rest in a cockpit, but it would be barely better than not resting at all.

Since ships are typically steered from a cockpit, I decided against implementing a complex "what is the grid doing" mechanic to prevent resting while your ship is moving.

  • Using a chair is often better than a cryo pod (Cryo is stasis—and cold is bad! :P).
  • The best option for quality rest, however, is a bed!

I noticed Bed don't recover health if u have Health Bonus. I have 150 Health cause the bonus, but if i got damage, bed don't recover more never :P

Another question is about Hydroponics Solution.
I built a Composter, Hydroponics Tank, Irrigation System and on Composter i created Hydropallets.

The problem is, a;; Hydropallets i produces are gone omg. They do not go to the Hydroponics Tank.
I've 18 Farm plots from the Vertical Farm Plot mod, i think they used all, but I turned off All Plots blocks. Still Hydropallets gone. I`ve no idea where they goes. I used all my Organic.

Any help please?

They go into the irrigation system and turn into hydro solution which goes into the hydro tank, I still haven't figured out how to get it from the tank to the farm plots though, they only fill up when I actively have a surplus of pellets in my irrigation system

I am using an inset bed, so it works great! But the GUI (CTRL+N) is slow to update. Just lie down on the bed for about 2.5 minutes and it will recover all tireless.
