That's how catfolk encountered ancient Vozneska and Polevi. Sometimes it turns into military conflicts, sometimes - into profitable and long-term trading.

The catfolk became renown and infamous as vicious and feral pirates among traders and travelers of Kestamilja, Erriovala and Humanierra. At some time Koshani have reigned at Voito island.

The core Vozneslya religion is Auroran Faith. It's a large cult based on worshipping to Sun God and his endless Ascensions and Descents. This is government-supported religion as Ascension concept became part of Vozneslya ideology. But not everywhere.
Southern parts of federation (Skreport, far provinces on Dead South, Chernovka, Teploberezha, Novoyuzhie) are practicing Rivendell Faith. It's not about worshipping to a concrete deity, but entire philosophy about self-improving by meditations.
Southern-western provinces like Istrovo, Kladorechensk and Kamnedar are having Isendril Faith. Its population is partially related to now-defunct Isendryl empire (currently Norsudon & Bogustavek theocracies): somewhere are refugees, somewhere are exiles. Some have converted by traveling priests of Isendryl because the empire has plans to colonize Vozneslya.
Koshani and Polevi are having Seraphic Faith. Although they are under rule of the Vozhd they still preserving their spiritic cults. Koshani preserving their Seraphic Faith to keep their magical bonds to forest and sea spirits. Polevi venerate winds because they are living in steppes, savannas and deserts.
