DP28: you can get 2 for the price of 1 MG42.
PTRS: equips whole 6 man squads without munition cost (AT conscript, AT penals)
M1919: suppression ability
M1918: rear echelon + 2 M1918 + volley fire = superfast suppression squad
Bazooka: slightly cheaper than panzerschreck (i think) but also weaker
Bren (tommies): relic buff pls?
Vickers K (sappers): heavy engineer upgrade vickers K doesnt consume a slot
PIAT: stronger than Panzerschreck, but less range (i think)
The point is that the axis weapons arent completely superior in all cases and when they are you have to pay for it.
But if you apply the same 'higher DPS -> better' thought process to tanks, you could reasonably limit axis tanks.
Panzer IV is generally considered to be superior to T-34/76, T-34/76 is significantly cheaper than Panzer IV though.
PzKpfW IV: expensive, but a good allrounder. (MG42: expensive, but an excellent LMG)
T-34/76: cheap, more easily spammable. (DP28: cheap, spammable)
I always try to compare ostheer and soviet, as they are the original CoH2 factions and give good examples.)
