Integrating a bunch of your New Focuses into the main focus tree, as well as removing redundancy:
- I'd remove focuses like T-45D refurbishment and T-51b Refurbishment, Etc. i'd instead probably buff the paladin scavenging focuses by increasing the amount of Power Armour you find.
- I'd replace Gunrunner blueprints with Scribe Council, it's a very strong buff and i think could make sense to replace the year research buff
- Quality and Quantity i would do some changes and kind of cut them up, and merge them with some other stuff i'll give some details in its own Category cause i think it's pretty big.
- Remove Power expertise but replace it's bonus with the Power armour Development one, since i think it's reasonable to have that research buff, It's criminal that lost hills starts with Stripped Power armour, virtually the entire Brotherhood starts with Scavenged PA and lost hills for some reason has the same level as Iron Alliance a bunch of Raiders in Power Armour(Mojave also have Stripped but i think it's because they are kinda supposed to be in the worst spot in terms of Lore, Also TBH doesn't even have stripped but they Vault-Tech for some reason, they kinda not BOS-ish)
- I would probably make the Lost hills Military Academy branch just be in the middle of the Securing Nearly lost bunkers and the Eastern Cities branches (as a Mini-branch), i think it's quite nice flavour wise and is honestly nice to not have to spend Command Power to get more leaders for Volunteers i send (So i can use the CP on the Effort Decisions)
- Additionally i would probably Nerf some of the focus times generally any that are 20 should probably be 30 since that's more of the standard (There can be some exceptions though for both good and bad), i would probably make Paladin Promotions 45 instead of 30 since it's Kinda GIGA OP (i would also lower the Army Experience from 100 to 75 MAX), Main reason i say it's op is because it helps you Unlock Plasma Or Mini-Nukes very early on (Granted for some reason lost hills is Arguably the less efficient at getting Plasma weapons for BOS factions that get Plasma, At least in my opinion).
- I would replace Innovative Weaponry Research with your Scribe Initiates
- I'll give more examples in other places
Quality and Quantity:
- Separate the Actual power Armour changes from that Tree and Merge that with the Gunrunner(or Scribe Council now maybe) Power Armour part expanding it, so once you say choose what was once Superior Alloys you are locked into another focus then can get Power Armour Development, ETC
- for Quantity currently in total with Brotherhood Doctrine, Scrap refinement, Renovate Old Suits. You get -75% power armour cost which is very funny but also insane this effectively makes it so you don't really need factories on Power armour and you can still field a ton of divisions, so both my merging this branch and lowering the value i think it would be much more fair, I would maybe aim around a total reduced cost of 30-50% MAX and maybe it lowers reliability by a bit to kinda make up for it?
- I would move the Recruitable pop factor away from Quantity, maybe Outsider Initiation get it (or Maybe give it to its focuses and space it out).
- I would probably remove the Old World Armour tech, even though its nice and super useful against NCR and Legion i think it's unnecessary with the Other modifiers you can get as Lost hills (Plus it doesn't buff Paladins so...).
- Also the Org bonus of Quality i would probably move to Commitment to Purity
Circle of Steel Branch:
- I would remove this branch and instead move it's features elsewhere, however i could also see it being expanded if you felt like that.
- I would make the first Focus of each Expedition give you a Circle of Steel cell + Infiltration (Example The Washington Brotherhood gives you a Circle of Steel and Infiltration on the Cause and Washington, Texas gives you one on the TBH, Transition into the Alamo gives you one on the Alamo, ETC).
- I would make Learning from the NCR-BOS war the Effects from Our old Enemy, Including the Tension (this would also make it more Interesting).
- Surveil the Wastes is quite good and cool, but honestly i wouldn't super hate it if it was removed or maybe just added to new Expeditions?
- Make the Circle of Steel Baseline, honestly not a super powerful buff and i think it's quite flavourful and would make sense to keep it on game start.
Branch Starts:
- Increase "Our right" from 14 days to 30 days (if you do no other changes to Our right then make it 15 Days).
- Make Learning from the NCR-BOS war, Elder Schemes, New Reforms, Our Right. More Exciting.
Scavenging changes:
- either add the bos_nf_scavenging_program effect that unlocks generic scavenging program to Advanced scavenging, add the focus below all the Scav focuses or Remove it and make a more in depth lost hills exclusive scavenging system.
- Make it so when you Finish the Scavenging focuses you unlock a repeatable Scavenging decision of that Category (Example, Completing Scavenging T-51B Power Armour unlocks a repeatble decision of Finding power armour, maybe the Tier is Random so you can find T-45D or T-51B).
Chapter/Brotherhoods/Expedition branches:
- Find a way to make Long Range research worth it, with out making it just blatantly better (Honestly you save so much time by going Long range Communications even with the Amount of research bonuses), Maybe it gives you a Encryption bonus similar to OLD BOS focus tree and maybe the research bonuses have some year reductions (just a thought).
- I would try and Expand these focuses generally, i generally think they should Lyons brotherhood (even though they are not as main Character), I also like how Mojave have the Recall McNamara focus it could be interesting if every Faction had a similar focus maybe say Alamo/Texas have one for getting Katherine as an Advisor?
- Make the Support chapters decisions you made require the Chapter to be Alive to click
- Add more decisions like the Vertibird or Plasma Gun one from Guardians and SHI, to other Chapters (this would also technically mean you have to add it to New Expeditions the focus)
- Make the Plasma gun from Guardians not require NCR to be dead (so it's similar to the SHI one)
Some other MISC stuff:
- A lot of the Focuses you made are cool, but i think the Numbers are generally too big (not every Research needs a Ahead of Time penalty reduction as an example), plus a lot of the time you can stack modifiers getting an Outrageous advantage so i would probably say that also needs to be tuned down a big, Finally about the focuses you add some of them i would consider adding more bloat to the Focus tree (i don't mean this to be rude but lost hills has a rather big focus tree and in my opinion you generally have to do focuses in specific orders to play lost hills effectively and it already suffers from bloat, plus certain ones like First scouts is kinda just a flavour thing but is useless otherwise since it just buffs Light special forces aka Rangers and i'm not gonna run them just gonna run Power Armour).
- Honestly certain PP costs could be slightly lower, Solidify High Elder is kinda the best example it cost a wopping 400 PP while taking a year (and you already have to spend PP on the focuses to unlock it, plus banning a party costs 200), i would lower the pp cost to 200.
- going certain paths just feel better, Cultist is kinda the best one ngl (Nice events, Cybernetics, OP commanders, bonus leader trait, can buff other brotherhood leaders, can instantly declare war on NCR, etc), Rhombians get Infinite Manpower (But take 10000 Years to be able to declare war), Maxsonians (get a DPS buff against NCR, if you go Maxson get a subpar commander and some bonus PP generation, but this takes way longer since you need to research) and Reformers(Honestly only exist to go steel rangers, which suck and to give you 2 Knowledge) are kinda bad comparatively, so doing maybe some changes to this could be nice.
- I kinda dislike how the Greater Council of Scribes work it kinda just says hey once we've defeated our enemies in our Region lets share research now that the game is basically over and we've already researched a lot of stuff.
