This time, many people immediately upgraded to 1.6, so I didn't notice the patch corruption due to CE updates. Rebuilt assemblies for 1.5, and the issue was resolved.
With this the caravans will be way funnier!
As I'm already here, is there any way to access the vehicle's cabin from the map? Let's say a Dreadnought is caravaning with a pawn on it's map, said pawn could in any way enter the cabin from the map, or a pawn in the cabin exit to the map? I'm asking because the Vehicle Interior Framework have a method for those and I couldn't find a way with the vehicle map.
In the same topic, do you have any plans to make the vehicle maps compatible with the Vehicle interiors? Not that they conflict, just things such as entering the interior from the vehicle map and vice-versa for example. Although I think this may be more on the other side than yours.
And no, I'm definitely NOT thinking about something like a Mortal Engines run in any way...
Anyway, Thanks again for the attention!
As far as I know, the Vehicle Interior Framework is just add a portal function to vehicles to a separate map (integrated the functionality of SimplePortal), so doing something like that shouldn't be difficult.
I'm not sure whether the Vehicle Interior Framework can be used to create pocket maps or if the Vehicle Interior Space Manager is required, but regardless, you can generate the map somehow, link the vehicle to the map, and then link the SimplePortal placed on the vehicle map to the map.
Simple portals can only link to the same map, there's a "vehicle exit" portal, but it's only a skin to the portal if built by the player, only the one generated with the vehicle's interior works. So no portal to the Vehicle interior.
It's possible to access the driver's seat from the inside, but getting the driver loaded this way out of the seat to the Vehicle Map cause some bugs with the colonist bar (dunno if it's because Colony Groups), making the pawn being recognized as both on the Vehicle Interior as on the original map. Loading the Pawn again and unloading the normal way seems to fix it.
Overall, it seems those problems only occur with vehicles without a cab, like the Land Carrier and the Crawler. With the RV it works as expected. I'll try putting an interior on the Dreadnought and see how it works.
I'll try using pocket dimensions instead, and leave vehicle interior only to the vehicles with cabin.
Regardless, thank you for the attention. Your mod is incredible! It takes the game to another level!
