non piloted vehicles cant enter caravans
the gecko and upgraded mule cant enter caravans so they are limited to 1 single tile

yes, indeed, equipment without a pilot cannot enter the caravan, this can only be done if you turn on the developer mode and select everything so that the route is selected and manually disable everything else.
