Hello, I have encountered an issue twice so far that causes the game to crash. At the moment of both crashes I was walking through one of Hamlet's ruins doors during dusk/night.

..._starve/data/../mods/workshop-3191971653/modmain.lua:461: attempt to perform arithmetic on field 'animtime' (a nil value)

Thank you for making this mod, and let me know if there is any more information I can provide to help you resolve this issue.

thanks!

okay so these logs are fairly recent, I imagine you played a little bit after you crashed?

I would need the log file right after you crash next time.

If you decide to make a video, that would be ideal but not at all necessary. I would need to know stuff like: how much time you spent on that save before it crashed, how many day phases passed, did you make the world before installing the mod.

Anyway, i'll try to update as soon as possible with a line that I believe will fix it, but we'll have to see.
Hello, my game crashed again, but this time I was able to get the log.txt and backup_log.txt files right away. Hopefully it contains the information you need to fix the crashing issue. This time it occurred on Day 2 of a Hamlet world, right after I tried to leave a cave.

Sorry, I cannot find any reference to my mod in these logs. Do you recall what you did to trigger the game crash? And are you certain it's from my mod? I see you have quite a few
That's ok! I'm sorry that the files couldn't help you. Before the crash, I had built a science machine and dropped some items inside of the cave by its entrance. Before leaving the cave I believe it was nighttime. Maybe its triggered by the game autosaving or the transition to daytime? I'm sorry I can't provide you with more details. Gosh, this was the one time I wasn't recording gameplay footage after recording 3+ hours of gameplay and thought I was safe from any further crashes. When the game crashed I received an identical message to the one I posted on April 4th. Is it possible that I went into the files too quickly and didn't give them enough time to update?

I do have 36 mods installed, but I keep only 13 of them enabled, with those being ActionQueue Reborn, Better Volcano Warnings, Cline's Clock UI, Combined Status, Display Food Values, Geometric Hamlet+, Geometric Placement, Gourmet Extravaganza, Gourmet: Figs & Grapes, Ice Fling Range Check, Less Placement Blocking, Lightningrod Range, and Minimap HUD. I can try uninstalling the ones I don't keep enabled, as they might be interfering somehow. I can also disable the 2 gourmet mods, as I installed them at the same time as your mod and they could be interfering as well.

Edit: I've also verified the integrity of Don't Starve's files.

Hmm... well I do not have enough info as to what could have caused the crash but you can also try sending a photo of the crash screen next time.

A way to tell if my mod's causing the issue is that you can easily find the mod's name on the screen (in this case, my mod's name is workshop-3191971653 since it's a workshop mod, you might also see "Cline's Clock UI" but I doubt it).

I will try investigating that thing you said about the autosave thing.

I believe Display Food Values might also have some issues, I heard it used to cause many glitches but this was a long time ago and I don't know if anything changed. This is just a guess though.
Yes! I've finally caught the crash on video! :D I made sure to take a screenshot of the crash screen as well. I don't know much about coding, but I figured that having the console on screen might help since I think it shows what the game is doing in real time. I also waited a few minutes before grabbing the log.txt and backup_log.txt files, so hopefully they had enough time to update after I exited the game.

For the video I went through my mods at the start so you can see how I have them configured.

Edit: Woops, I just realized that I forgot to disable the gourmet mods, sorry about that!

That video was of much help!

I believe it crashes when you exit interiors when the clock is turned off.

I'll have to check it out to see if that's the case.
Cline  [developer] 9 Apr, 2024 @ 11:22pm
Okay, so it's a big "maybe" about what I just said. I can't seem to get the crash consistently.

Have you crashed when exiting an interior while the clock was opened?

Have you also crashed when entering interiors? is so, same question?
Cline  [developer] 9 Apr, 2024 @ 11:57pm
I just pushed an update that might fix it.
IntuitiveSurvivor 11 Apr, 2024 @ 7:05pm
Thank you for the update! From what I can recall, the game has only crashed while the clock was not opened and while exiting interiors, not entering them.

Got this mod recently as I wanted to check it out, I noticed the season clock was off when in the cave/ruins (Have not checked if this happens in the volcano, nor enough playtime in HAM to see if it happens there):

@PootisWizard That's most likely just compatibility issue with Combined Status. Have you tried disabling said mod to see if it works correctly?

If you still want to have Combined Status active, have you tried disabling the cave clock option or the season clock option or both?

Maybe your screen/game resolution messes with the position of the widget, would you mind sharing those?

The volcano and Interior clocks function similarly to the cave clock so those also should be broken.

Heya @Cline sorry for the lack of response, didn't see this message till just now (I'll sub to this to keep tabs so I don't lose track).

I will test those out whenever I get the chance and post results here.

I will also test my resolution to see if its that too, for context, I play on my 2560x1440 Monitor (I have a dual monitor setup), I'm not sure what resolution you play on.

I still haven't done HAM yet for the clocks yet to check em out, but I can confirm the Volcano works perfectly fine:

Okay, I see. If the volcano clock works fine I think the interior ones should also work.

I think the real issue is with the Cave Clock option inside of Combined Status. Have you tried turning it off?
