Bug Reports & Compatibility (4/26/2024 Patch)
Let us know of any new bugs you find related to this mod.

Known Issues:

When players are near each other, they will hear the blackout sound effects produced for other players in addition to their own. Since these sound triggers can often arrive from the server very close to one another in time, it is not always obvious that this is happening. Preventing this duplication is of interest to us but not high priority right now.

The CoolBag mod may have a minor interaction with this mod, but we have not yet confirmed this. The interaction is minor and related to refrigeration failing to restore properly after a blackout. This does not happen to us if CoolBag is not installed. Neither of us have had time to work on CoolBag compatibility, but it's on our agenda.

During a blackout if you look in a fridge all the food will be stale or rotten depending on how old the world is. If you looked at the fridge before a blackout the food will be fine. reloading the game when the powers back on and checking the fridge shows the food as good again (unless you took something out then it will still be rotten). This is on a dedicated server.

Are y'all using CoolBags?

No

I will investigate this ASAP.

I can send you a list of mods enabled on the server if it helps, but I dont think any of them should be touching refrigeration

I am not home but will try to reproduce this when I am. If I can reproduce it in the absence of your modlist, I won't need further info, but otherwise I might.

I haven't checked refrigeration during blackout because I thought Joy had reported it working in the absence of CoolBag, so I focused on other goals.

It seems to depend on if the fridge was check before the blackout or not. and per person. I just ait some food out of a fridge and when a blackout happened my friend commented all the food was rotten. so when I looked it was rotten for me now as well. Could also just be random

Very odd. We'll definitely investigate. Instant spoilage is not an intended feature of changing the electricity shutoff modifier or the hydroelectric power state, nor is it immediately obvious to me why either of those variables would have any direct effect on food spoilage.

Well I could not reproduce this as a single player in a multiplayer server, so we're going to need to escalate this to more complicated analysis. Sad days. Haha.

Can you please DM me on Steam (you can contact me via the Indie Stone server for Project Zomboid) and send me your server files for testing so that I can try to reproduce this error faster?

We are continuing to investigate this and we have ideas of things to try but need more time. If you are following this thread, please hang in there while we work through this!

Coincidental timing. Mod still allows server to launch just fine in Singleplayer and Multiplayer. Last update did not break anything. Please contact me directly on Discord if you want further help figuring out why your server is having issues.

PS: As always, I tested this in MP alongside about 400 mods, so it's highly unlikely this is a conflict. Much more likely another mod you removed was the issue, or, alternatively, that something has gone wrong with your Zomboid installation and prevented your server from properly pulling this mod's update. Unsubbing, verifying files, and restarting PC before resubbing may get you sorted.

FYI, the food spoilage bug has been reproduced. Solving it however is more complicated than hoped. The power being out at all serverside when you travel to a new area seems to be the issue there. We attempted to see if we could resolve that by leaving power on serverside and turning it off clientside, but this apparently leaves some objects on, such as TVs. So until we can think of a workaround (which I am trying to do), we are forced to choose between tv's going off in a blackout and food being appropriately fresh when we travel to new places during a blackout.

Update: I have been too sick to work on an update for this, but will get to it ASAP.

hello, does this mod produce any logs? i've been running into a strange bug, in which the mod sometimes fails to turn the power back on when the blackout occurs during sleep (in these cases, upon fading back in from the sleep black screen, the power turns off. checked using print(powerDisabledByBlackouts), no blackout but power's still off). reloading the save fixes the issue, but can still reencounter the issue
