The same principle works for a motion sensor.
In the Signal Logic Tab find the sensor and give it a name.
I named it Teleporter, but anything works.
The Sensor Device is named Teleporter in the List because I named it that in the Devices Tab. But that's not important. Just for convenience. The important name is in the TX Signal box.

Now find the Teleporter in the Signal Logic Tab.
Select what you called the Signal (Teleporter) in the On/Off drop down box.
And set it to Follow.

This will automatically turn the shield off and on
To do that find the Shield in the Signal Logic Tab. Do like above. Select the name of the signal and set it to Follow. However you need to tick the I (Inverter) box on the right.
Its green in the picture. This makes sure the shield turns off when you enter the signal and turns back on when you leave.

OK, glad to see you got it figured. I will leave this to potentially help someone else.
I use a circuit consisting of a 2AND and an INVERTER. I have a switch/lever for the Shield and a sensor for the teleporter, then I set the 2AND's left top slot to what I called the switch/lever (usually "Shield Switch") and on the left bottom slot of the 2AND I put the name of what I put in the right side of the INVERTER (usually "ShieldOff"), I also name the right side of the 2AND slot to "ShieldON". I then put the teleporter sensor name (usually "Teleporter Sensor") in the left side of the INVERTER and the right side of the INVERTER I name as "ShieldOff". For the teleporter's follow command I put the right side of the INVERTER (i.e., ShieldOff) and for the Shields follow command I put "ShieldON" from the right side of the 2AND's circuit (i.e., ShieldON). Be sure to check the "invert" box next to the teleporter's follow command or else the teleporter will be on when your out of the sensor range and off when your in.
I'm sure there's a simpler method to accomplish this, but this is what I could figure out after many trial and errors.
Hope this makes some kind of sense?
