The big Unterwater Cave is a dead end, go back there's another way.

Ideally you'd of built upside down L shapes pointing in the direction you entered at turns you took.

Then ask yourself these questions.

Where is your respawn point.?
If it's miles away then Why didn't you build a respawn bed and attach it to your vehicle.?
Is it worth a respawn.?

Do you watch to much TikTok only to realise at this moment it teaches nothing. Lol.

The cave, escpacially the underwater cave, is huge and a extreme maze. You could use the commands '/god' and 'fly 1000' (have to be used above the water, because water disables fly) and fly upwards, to go out of bounce and find a way inside the cave again. If you use the fly-command a second time or if you touch the water, fly will be disabled.

Thats the best way to escape the maze. Next time, try to use the O2-bottle, headlamp and diving fins.

It's actually more difficult than you think to get lost in the mines - it either leads to the right way or to a dead end. If you are in the bit with the stream and the stalegmites etc. then remember to follow the river through the small tunnel like opening.

In addition to makeshift signs, you can also create paper notes and put them on signs.
Write some meaningful description on it, like if it lead to dead end or enterance, or similar.
