The Byproduct System
Within Advanced Agriculture, some processes will produce byproducts. For instance, brewing rice will produce rice beer, rice husks, and rice seeds; the rice husks are a byproduct. The rice husks can then be used to produce rice husk dye. The purpose of this system is to allow plant materials that would not be used by a reaction to be utilized in other processes. Plant materials that would be used in the reaction will not leave byproducts. You'll have to choose if you want to use those berries for wine or for dye.

This system has two subsystems:
Scrapping is a system to focus on obtaining these byproducts in bulk. Stable long-term towns can use scrapping to produce large amounts of dye for industrial purposes. Scrapping destroys everything except the byproduct, but allows larger, more direct production chains for industrial purposes.

Debarking allows obtaining bark (and thus dye) from logs without destroying the log. Debarking a log returns five bark which can be processed into dye. Acacia dye, however, is still obtained from the wood. Logs are rather large, so an acacia log produces ten acacia dye.
