Realism Series Overhaul
Realism Series Overhaul

More diverse units with greater distinctions between them, each fulfilling their unique roles. I've strived to ensure every unit type can realize its value - no troop type belongs in the trash bin. Say goodbye to homogenization!

  • Equipment Panel Mechanism: Added an equipment display panel for all units, shown in the unit data panel. Infantry display Armor, Shield, and Weapon; Cavalry display Mount, Armor, and Weapon.
  • Stamina Mechanism: Different soldier qualities and armor, different horse qualities and barding, all result in different stamina consumption efficiency. Combat becomes incredibly realistic.
  • Weapon Mechanism: Weapons are divided into a vast number of categories. Check the in-game equipment panel for details.
  • Revolutionary Update: A unit's combat strength is no longer solely tied to armor strength. Proficiency level is now the most important label for a unit. Removed the Light, Medium, Heavy armor prefix labels, replacing them with labels like Elite, Superior, Levy, etc. Armor remains important, but it's not absolute. Higher proficiency grants higher stamina and better weapons.

Major Unit Data Adjustments
Adjusted all unit combat data based on the Proficiency benchmark

Proficiency-Based Melee Attack/Defense Adjustments:
  • Total Melee Attack + Defense: Legendary 100, Elite 80, Superior 65, Regular 50, Inferior 40, Levy 35.
  • Melee Attack/Defense Ratios:
    1. Pavise (2:8)
    2. Pike (3:7)
    3. Spear & Shield (4:6)
    4. Sword & Shield (5:5)
    5. Long Polearm (6:4)
    6. Dual Wield (7:3)
    7. Both-Handed (8:2)
(The following are types below benchmark total value.)
    8. Sword (Single, no shield) (5:2)
    9. Spear (Single, no shield) (4:2)
    10. Cavalry (7:1)
  • Dismounted cavalry data corresponds to their respective weapons (mostly Sword & Shield, some Spear & Shield).
  • Due to the low impact of Melee Defense, it now provides a corresponding health bonus. Units with a Defense ratio above 5 are defined as Defensive units, others as Offensive units. The health bonus only applies to Defensive units. Offensive units receive a health penalty.

Ranged Entity Adjustments:
  • Based on actual weapons, e.g., Flintlock Bayonets use SPEAR, Hand Cannon melee uses 2H.
  • Purely ranged units have their melee attack reduced by 20%.

Uniform Health Adjustments by Entity Category:
  • Pavise: +60
  • Pike: +40
  • Spear: +20
  • Sword: 0
  • Long Polearm: -10
  • Dual Wield: -20
  • Both-Handed: -30

Morale Adjustments:
  • Legendary 70, Elite 60, Superior 50, Regular 40, Inferior 30, Levy 20.

Veterancy Bonus Adjustments:
  • Adjusted combat experience bonuses for all levels. Now, Each Level veterans have very strong endurance (Level 9 heavy armor unit stamina is almost equivalent to Level 0 light armor unit), with comprehensive improvements in other aspects as well (but melee attack/defense are adjusted conservatively for balance).

Proficiency Label Update:
  • Changed the Quality label to a Proficiency label (6 levels total: Legendary /Elite/Superior/Regular/Inferior/Levy). Weapon data, formations, and a series of other data will be designed around this Proficiency label.

Fatigue Label Adjustments:
  • Added Horse Fatigue labels (4 levels of fatigue, varies by horse type).
  • Adjusted Soldier Fatigue labels (Based on Proficiency +, and corresponding equipment -).

Comprehensive Weapon System Refinement

A new weapon tier system with multiple grades and variants for each weapon type, making combat more diverse and realistic!
