It seems like any sort of "Loading" (Or possibly saving) option that takes place sets the chance of the credit cruncher cybernetic to 0, having gone through some testing using Wish & giving XP. This includes both loading a save from menu as well as using sphinx salt injectors. Curiously enough, removing the cybernetic at a becoming nook, moving the character back and forth, then reinstalling the cybernetic will fix the issue until the game is loaded again.
