War Exhaustion Bug?
Does anyone know how the war exhaustion effect applied to counties for offensive wars works? Three of my counties have war exhaustion "The effects of the present offensive war has on this province." The thing is, that war ended many decades and multiple character deaths/ruler changes ago. I don't even own one of those counties anymore and they still have it. Is there a decision or something I am not seeing to use to get rid of it or is this bug. I feel like if the answer is wait it has been far too long for it to not have expired.

Also I don't know if this would have any affect on the modifiers, but the offensive war was not mine, I was asked to join an ally's offensive war.

By looking at the code right now, you can only lose the war exhaustion modifiers if you are not in any war. The event to clear these modifiers happens every 3 months. Neither I am seeing anything wrong with the code, nor your issue has been raised before.

If the county is not held by you, perhaps the present owner has been in wars since he/she inherited the modifiers. The only borderline case that would prevent the cleaning of modifiers would be if the present ruler of those counties was not playable (the Pope, for instance).

Thanks for the reply. I think I have had at least one period of sustained peace, but I haven't been counting. I am also playing with a good slew of mods, so you never know what kind of weird overlap might happen. Just glad to know I wasn't missing a stupid obvious decision or something.
Just an update on this. I had the event fire again on the same save and tracked the time following the end of the offensive war. The new modifiers have not been cleared after well over a year of continuous peace and my capital has two instances of it now. I am wondering if maybe there is an issue being caused by being a culture capable of raiding? One of the mods I am using is RICE which adds a struggle for the Normandy region (where I am playing) which has various effects including allowing raiding. It's the only thing I can think of that would have to do with being considered at peace or not. I am not at all knowledgeable about how modding CK works, but for those who check this thread there might be a mod conflict caused by that so be wary about using both simultaneously.

What I can say is that the event that clears the province modifiers is scheduled to fire every three months for any playable character that is at peace whose domain provinces have the relevant modifiers. It is a pretty simple implementation and I cannot find any bug in the code.

Maybe some obscure incompatibility with other mod. Thanks for the report anyway!
