Campaign length?
I loved much of the original game and am very tempted to try this mod - sounds fantastic. However my main complaint with the original, and the one that stopped me from more than one playthrough, was the sheer number of missions.

I found the haven defence, base defence and the smaller enemy base missions in particular were extremely tiresome and too frequent.

Does this mod change the campaign length? Is it something that can be adjusted in the campaign setup menu? I, albeit quickly, looked through the wiki and didn't see anything mentioned.

Yes, you'll be happy to know that there are far less missions to do in TFTV.
1) we removed a lot of "special" missions that weren't really that special,
2) we adjusted the number of colonies Pandorans can have and how fast they can build them, lowering the number of haven defenses,
3) the frequency of attacks on your bases now depends on certain factors (mainly proximity to Pandoran Colonies, but there are a few others, don't want to spoil anything :) ) Also, base defense mission has been completely redone.
4) with the harder diplomacy setting (on by default for higher difficulties) it is much, much harder to be friends with everyone, so instead of completing the questlines for the 3 factions, you are expected to be allied with only one of them.
5) by default there is a limit on how much you can raid.

If you so choose you can still play a forever game, but you can also satisfactorily finish the game much faster.
