I think that for one, having the Cleaver changed to have an melee primary and the throwable secondary fire, would be rather awesome.

Primary would be a melee attack that on kill gives you HP 25 that can overheal. Secondary is throwing the cleaver without changes to the current in game stats.

Also while in the demonstration video it is a reskin of the Shortstop, the Revolver is a secondary.

I think the pistol should be a higher damage secondary rather than a primary

I thought the big iron was the secondary since a scatter gun was a old western shotgun even if the scout's scatter gun looks different
