it must use some code not supported by steam deck? youd probably have better luck finding a fix asking in a steam deck support forum or whatever. you may just need to install some propriety software on it to fix. i don't own one so idk for sure, just my educated guess.

Same here, what’s weird is it works fine with arena and I’ve even had a few battles where it’s worked beautifully. However now it seems to do the infinite load screen when entering a battle.

Anyone have a suggestion?

Try this:

If you struggle with battle loading screen on linux, just install dotnet472 via protontricks (wine and winetricks are also required). just find app id with protontricks -s bannerlord and install it like this:
protontricks 123123(appid) -q --force vcrun2017 dotnet472 gdiplus

Sorry i tried everthing but when i trz installing dotnet472 via protontricks many errors come but i read that i have to ignore that finally a installwizard opend, but the installation failed!

furthermore the Konsole commands doesn t work either but i installed protontricks ! i found the bannerlord APP ID but the commands in the konsole doesn t work ! always says bash command not found

Ok, I have installed vcrun2017 dotnet472 gdiplus into the Bannerlord wineprefix via protontricks. It still crashes, meaning the game get's stuck on loading screen forever when entering a battle. It doesn't matter if it's campaign battle or custom battle from main menu. It get's stuck regardless.
I have managed to get a log output of proton. There is some NullReferrenceException at the end of the log. Can you take a look at it, please?

Also let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Tinker Steps:
Switch to experimental, protontricks
Game runs fine with no tinkering, however most mods cause an infinite loading screen, rendering the game unplayable. I managed to fix this by:
Setting the proton version to 4.11-13
Deleting and regenerating the prefix folder
Using protontricks to install dotnet472. Without Steps 1 & 2, the install failed, but changing the proton version allowed it to fire correctly. Command used: protontricks 261550 -q --force dotnet472
After dotnet472 finished I set the proton version back to experimental and left the prefix folder in place, mods were fine after this! :)


But unfortuneatly it doesn t work for me! But maybe you guys get it to work?

As far as I know the status 67 error is a known bug for Proton version 5 and up, that's why reverting to older versions makes sense. I followed the steps, including deleting the prefix folder in compdata, yet when it's all done the game just refuses to boot for me. I'll try forcing vcrun2017 & gdiplus too just to be thorough, but I've got little hope :(

Its so really sad! Because! Bannerlord runs so smoothly on the dexk! But u gotta need RBM to play it right! My opinion! 😀
