Frackin Kobolds
There's always more Frackin Kobolds.

Seriously though, I'm thinking about putting together a an FR pullrequest in their GitHub and I'm interested in hearing ideas.

Personally I'm thinking:
Omnivore + raw meat diet
fast hunger, high(10-15%) speed,
a slight preference for warmer biomes/heat,
a general buff for 1-handers, and/or specialization with pistols and daggers,
and (not unlike the smol-vali) a hefty -35% health.


Thoughts, ideas, and otherwise appreciated.

So far I have a fairly large speed increase, a slight jump increase, immunity to the Darkness effect. Because """I have Darkvision."""

Environmentally I think a small change based on hot or cold planets (positive and negative respectively) would be ideal, but I'm not sure what might be fitting for a buff/debuff. Maybe Speed?

Weapon wise I adore the thought of potent buffs for one-handed weapons. Namely Daggers, Rapiers, and varieties of pistols as these things might be called "Finesse Weapons."
Specifically:
Crit Chance and Crit bonus for daggers and rapiers; while pistols and machine pistols gain damage and max energy.

As these are all one-handers this allows mixing or doubling the buffs based on what is held. This way it rewards use of spamming lighter weapons while maintaining strong options for both melee and ranged combat.

Following the file architecture this leads to the subject of weaknesses. As mentioned I like the "-35%" health from smol avali very much here. It's a LOT in FU terms. This lends well to more of a "Glass Cannon" archetype that smaller races would fit to a Tee.
That said, I also like a challenge, so I copied the (rather fitting) "smaller stomach" weakness that Apex suffer from. Needing to eat more often encourages more frequent hunting, while having an "Omnivore + Raw Meat" diet gives enough options that it remains a minor weakness at worst.

Naturally I'm still interested in opinions, ideas, and whatever else.

I like all that, I think also making them paticularily good at mining could be fun, gold hoarders, they could potentially dig up more ore when mining

It would be neat to see emotes in the future, maybe a few more customization options as in horn types and colors, for example. For something more ambitious, unique tech that kobolds could use, for an idea, a dash slide that evades enemies, and slips under one block spaces, maybe an air dive to the same effect. Ball tech could instead be a climbing mode, allowing you to stick to walls and wall jump, but move slower while it is active, maybe a feral stance allows you to traverse tight gaps as well.

Was the pull request ever made? And are there any efforts to do additional or a revitilization of this mod as it seems very interesting if a bit rough still.

I'm afraid not.
It seems FU wants only the race mod's designer to be making pull requests for Frackin Races additions.
