It was really more of a line of personal edits for myself. A lot more has changed since I posted this. I just ended doing so much that I figured I should publish it before I drop Kenshi.
It's not censorship at all, it's a canonical wordswap for a canonical swear. Kriff and Kark literally means ♥♥♥♥ in the trilogy. It's to make it look like SW dialogue. The same goes for the racial slurs and the derogatory droid names, all examples used in it. It's for authenticity of the Star Wars universe, not the Kenshi universe.
Still have to disagree, the general audience is just only aware of a small fracture of Star Wars content and are exposed to content that is no longer of the spectrum/true content the genre once was. A deeper Legends connoisseur would likely not speculate Fett's wife being raped in the SW Tales 7 was censored and/or for the general audience for example of just how adult the SW universe is. They are just wordswaps. They say and mean the exact thing as our swears mean. The social impact is still there, the meaning is still there, it's simply a disconnect from our reality. That and Kenshi's wordswaps are pretty bland and are written in quite an edgy way. Calling someone a Bantha Kriffer is much better writing then Sh^tty Scumbag. If you have a look at the vanilla wordswaps, they are very bland and it's like a highschooler re-wrote the same five swear words to be mixed together with only references to Narko or Okran's body parts being tangibly unique. Believe me, I have a few thousand hours of Kenshi lmao. The wordswaps were not just replaced, they were made to make sense save for the few times Kenshi RNG takes over.
Also no, Thun-Ur are not recruitable lore-wise. They are all collectively a lost people due to Lord Krosag and only the Death Witch has some semblance of depressing sentience left with borderline obsession to kill him for it. She of consequence is also she only recruitable Thun-Ur in the game for this reason. Under the condition that you kill him, are stronger then her, and brought proof, of course. I have no intention to allow the infected and cannibals be recruited either. Re-socialization after being lobotimized by an alien fungi is impossible.
