Some planet ideas for you.
Hi, I just wanted to share some planet ideas with you for a possible future update to your mod.
Here's three that I could think of:

A pitch-black variant of midnight planets
Self explanatory, a similar idea to FU & Extended Story's lightless planets.

Tentacle planets
Self explanatory, helps make The Ruin feel like an active threat to the universe.

Ancient ring world
Because the Artificial planets don't look like they were built by the Ancients, (and likely aren't built by them I'm guessing,) I came up with a solution to that would add an Ancient city planet while keeping the one already in the mod: An ancient city orbiting a dwarf star. A similar idea to the Landable Gas Giants mod with the floating asteroids & falling hazards.

How I would design it would be that the surface layer would be the ring world/city, and the underground area between the surface & the core would be an asteroid field or open space.
The "underground" asteroid field would be similar to vanilla asteroid belt, but with Ancient debris, valuable ore, and without gravity. A good reason to pilot a mech on a planet.

that actually sounds interesting., except mechs on planets kind of suck especially if you need to dig .

That's kind of where I had the idea for the Ancient Ring World, as a reason to use a mech on a planet. Having the underground layers be a zero gravity environment would encourage that. If PixelFlame ever considers implementing that idea, maybe they could add some kind of ancient mech mining drill or laser that could effectively dig.
and here i thought you got it from Larry Niven. LOL.

Wait, I just googled who Larry Niven is because I've never heard of him. I kind of got the inspiration from the Halo series, which is also famous for its ring world(s).

Pretty much. I had heard of stories of ring worlds that were around before Halo 1, I just didn't know who was the first author who came up with the concept.

as far as i know Niven. but the concept is partially based around the concept of a Dyson's sphere.

Do you plan to let it also on GitHub, so players who bought Starbound on GOG could play it too?

I told you at the top of the mod page to backup your save, just return it to its previous state if you did.
