Also, is the welder upgradable?
Also also, will be robot be colorable in the future?
For question 2: Yes, you can upgrade it by opening the bot inventory screen and right clicking on another welder item, then selecting "Give and Equip" or "Equip" depending on which inventory the item is in
For question 3: I will mention it to Chipstix as that is his realm of expertise :)
To extend on question 1, will this ever be possible? For the robots to weld small block grids and stuff?
Another two questions:
4. Will there be script interactability?
5. How can one repair a drone? (Mine is damaged and as it costs 10k credits I rather repair it)
For #4: interactable in what way?
For #5: You can tell it to use a medkit the same way you tell it to equip a welder :)
#4: Like request status of the robot, command it to do stuff etc
#5: That would be amazing to know in the readme or something 😂
Just above that is the command menu info
There is a mod API if you want to make a mod and control them that way.
Otherwise, it’s via the Command Menu in game. Likely more commands will be added once I’m done fixing the bugs.
Works great.
Not sure if this is the place for suggestions but one thing I'd love to see if possible is a GPS or HUD marker of some type showing which block the repairbot is trying to get to.
Sometimes it gets stuck and it would be great to know which block I need to weld up to get it to move on to things it can access.
Hey, if you’re in offline mode, you can use the chat command “botai debug” to show the current pathfinding for your helper.
The repair bot *should* be able to get to whatever block it picks to work on, so if it’s getting stuck it may be something I need to tweak in the pathfinding.
If you can provide me the world or blueprint with the issue, I can see about working out whatever the issue is. Best place to put that (and other suggestions) would be on the Discord server, which is linked toward the bottom of the description page.
I've never seen that, and I've tested extensively on DS and Local MP.. The only time the text doesn't show up is when the HUD is off.
Maybe it's related to some other mod I have in game - I also notice when it happens, the companion seems like it lost it Faction Membership, it will just be the name which you gave it instead of `XXX.{NAME}` pattern, sometimes it fixes automatically after a while and sometimes it does not and I have to relog a few times for it to become interactable again
Quick other question, how can one modifiy the price the companion costs?
If you have EEM installed, that mod does cause issues, currently.
As for pricing, it’s coming, but you can’t at the moment
