- Terragrim's scaling increased from 100% to 115%
- Arkhalis' base tier lowered from 9 to 7 and scaling increased from 100% to 110%
This was due to Terragrim greatly out-damaging Arkhalis because of the latter being a substantially weaker weapon for the tier it is in. Both of their scalings were adjusted to keep up with the Fetid Baghnakhs due to their similar uses as extreme close-quarter weapons.
Boomstick has the exact same damage values as the Shotgun, at pretty much any tier I tested. Boomstick does shoot one less projectile but makes up for it by having higher firerate which leads to a very similar dps. However I did bump up Boomstick's scaling by a tiny extra 5% to help it keep up a bit better but I can't buff it too much without it escalating out of proportion.
There's a lot of weapons like that. And the upgraded version is actually more satisfying to use irrelevant of damage. My general thought was if these slower clunkier early game weapons were "overpowered" in terms of damage they'd still fall out of favor once the upgrade is found and giving them bigger damage numbers would actually make them viable within their tiers which is a bigger issue.
What I mean is why use the chain knife over the enchanted boomerang which is easier to get, stronger, faster and has better utility? Chain Knife is weak and sad and nobody has ever used it for more than five minutes.
That's my thought process anyway. I don't expect anyone to agree with me.
