So I'm playing with friends in multiplayer and we took a station takeover mission, but ended up not going that direction and have thus left the mission behind. Now we realize that we can't take another station takeover mission... so we're blocked from doing them unless we backtrack and complete the one we have already taken.

So +1 for being able to either take multiple station takeover missions or somehow abandon previous ones.
