Why aren't takeover missions optional??
I have a takeover mission to a base but I have no intention of doing it, but as soon as I step foot into the station it hits me with -200 rep. And let me remind you, there isn't an option to refuse the mission while talking to the npc, and you cannot "unselect" it when travelling to a station.

I'm basically just blocked off from one of the stations, and if I'm not wrong I keep getting new takeover missions from npc's on top of this. WHY IS IT LIKE THIS??

They are completely optional and talking to the guy doesn't force the mission on you. Once you accept the mission, you can't unselect it due to how these kind of missions work in this game... Devs are not adding the ability for us to remove active missions so we can't do anything else other than letting you accept or deny the mission via the event dialog.
Literally just select this dialog option instead of saying "Yes" to not get the mission:
"Sorry, but we currently got other business to take care of first."
