gravel turrets - outranged by early encounters
I love the concept of gravel turrets, a great use of this early game waste material! Unfortunately the range for the fast firing turret is 400m and all the early drones that attack me hover at a range of about 450m and wreck me before I get too far in the game.
Heavy turrets obviously fire too slow to hit these early harass encounters...

I'm sure there's a good reason for 400m, and its just the modular encounter mods that are challenging me.
I'm not sure what to do though. Is there a way I can edit the turrets (maybe an override of the default industrial) with a mod?

Maybe I'm a missing the proper solution.

I agree, i had to turn off the mod that added modded weapons to the enounters but still. cant really survive

@Vix Cosmos - I haven't confirmed this works yet, but from the looks of it, this mod has gravel turrets w/ 850m range. https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2302162888

@Vix Cosmos following up. I used this in a game yesterday. You need to use the "mods assembler" (assembler for non industrial overhaul items) to get the compress gravel ammo for the GGT MK2 by Skallanjorn . I had 3 of these turrets in a triangle formation about 100m. The shots fly slowly compared to the IO gravel turrets but a few shots landed on the harass drone and was able to take it down before doing too much damage.
I think my starting path in IO is now
== work bench -> smelter -> fabricator -> mod assembler -> GGT Mk2 ==
instead of
== work bench -> smelter -> stone crusher -> Gravel Turret ==

would be awesome if GGT Mk2 could use the stone crusher's gravel ammo ... or IO brought in the GGT Mk2

Honestly 400m was basically just pulled out of nowhere heh, I can bump up the range.
Will likely do 750m or so for the gravel gun, and tweak ranges on the other guns up a bit as well
