Whats a good passive income industry in a town?
I was planning on circuits out of copper in Squinn, but I do not see the tech for it and so i assumed it was changed in the mod. Can't do refineries obviously( That reminds me, for some reason I cant place tents on top of buildings) and hydroponic farms is pretty late tech iirc.

Shop counter from what i read is garbo in vanilla and idk if the mod ever touch on that and it doesnt seem like its worthwhile since everyone is still broke lol(would had been kewl to set up shop that deals with artefacts from exploration and such but oh well). So what is the go to Industry/crafting to have a passive income in town while Im doing bounty hunts/ruins delving and exploration(with out making a base)?

Shop counter is still really ass in UWE; the weapons and high priced items never sell in my game. If you want your shop counter to ♥♥♥♥♥ explode use this mod:

I added it mid-game, at the end of load order, WITHOUT IMPORT and it is working fine.

Drugs and alcohol. You want to scout out the bars / shops selling them before you set up shop. Find the specific ones that give you the fattest profits with minimum travel time then pick your poison and start pumping. But is it really passive if you're importing your raw resources ( no base you said) ?

Straight up crafting and selling weapons/armor/items works but only if you roid up your shop counter with that mod I linked before.

Alternatively, if you're willing to use a whole ass other squad, you could do drug runs from the swamp to the southern slave town and UC cities. You'll see that drugs and alcohol are super over-priced in those faction-specific owned bars so you WILL make a huge ass profit from the drug run. Once i figured this out, i regularly started turning around 75000 cats every 2-3 days just from the bars buying up my all my stash. Its worth leveling up a pack animal for this imo. Just make sure you keep enough money to buy the cheap swamp drugs so you can continue the hustle.

Thanks for that info. I know about that mod but normally don't like to add new mods mid game. But sounds like its safe to do so.

I know about the drugs. But I would still need a base to grow plants and hydro is high tech(and for what ever reason i cant add planter boxes on the top floor.). And I already set up a base of operations before i knew that some towns had farms that i could had used.

I get what you saying about importing resources, but what i mean for passive is that i can just set up auto work and they can stack up the ore to have a back up income while Im out and about and need a sudden injection of cats. But I guess its kinda moot since the mod makes it kinda impossible to do that with the gate guards behavior changes. Miners constantly go through the gate, gate guard randomly wants bag check but the minor keeps running, gets slapped with a 500 bounty, gets attacked by the city guard, get slapped with another 1k-1.5k bounty for "defending" themselves.

Honestly kinda ruined the game for me because every time back there, someones in prison lol.
The swamp town guards do no such bag checks. Setting up that mining passive income would work there i think. Swamp houses are on the cheap too! Perfect size for a iron/copper ore storage. And you can stock up on cheap drugs in town to sell later if your squad ever rolls through town :D
