Possible to make transparent for political mapmode only?

I've really liked it for the most part, but wanted to know if there's a way to make it transparent for just the Political map mode, since the other mapmodes you tend to only use for a few seconds so it's better if it's not transparent so you can see better and then switch back to political when your just waiting around.
