How to find the mod these days?
How the hell are you supposed to find the mod these days? The game directory in the workshop directory is a ridiculous number you can't recognize with your own eyes, and the mods themselves are the same.

It used to be that there was URL above, which contained that number, but the adress bar and URL have been removed these days. so what gives?

There's a setting in steam to show the address bar when possible. They changed the default a while back. You can always just browse steam in a proper browser too

The CONFIG.INI file for CFE Patch is now located here:

C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\CnCRemastered\Mods\Tiberian_Dawn\CFEPatch
To make the URL re-appear in Steam simply go to the upper-left corner of the window, click "Steam", click "Settings, click on "Interface" in the Settings menu, then check the box for: "Display Steam URL Address Bar when available" to enable it.

my mod folders are empty, anyone know why?

The mod will create the ini file the first time you start a game with the mod enabled.
You'll have to *actually* start a skirmish or campaign mission though.
Sorry, I know it's a little clunky but we have no way of running any modified code before the game loading screen.

You must first activate this mod in the game's main menu options screen. Here are some detailed steps to activate and customize this mod:

1. Subscribe to this mod in the Workshop.

2. Start the game via Steam's "Play" button.

3. In the Main Menu, click the "Options" button, then click on the tab called "Mods" .

4. In the "Mods" tab of the "Options" menu, you should see a box with a list of the names of your currently subscribed mods. If you don't see the mod in this list, exit the game and unsubscribe/resubscribe to it to force a new download of the mod files and then restart the game and come back to the "Mods" tab, proceed to step 5 below....

5. In the "Mods" tab click the button in the upper-right of the Mods tab that looks like two arrow lines chasing each other in a circle (refresh list button).

6. Now, the mod's name should appear in the list on the "Mods" tab of the "Options" menu.

7. Left-click in the square left of the mod's title in the list, a check-mark should appear.

8. Left-click the "Apply" button to confirm and apply the changes you made in "Mods" tab.

9. Go back to the main menu and left-click on the "Skirmish" or "Campaign" buttons and start any single-player mission you feel like.

10. After the new mission loads up and you have control of your units on the map, exit the mission and go back to the main menu.

11. Exit the game and navigate to the folder on your PC where the CONFIG.INI of this mod is stored, which should be here:

C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\CnCRemastered\Mods\Tiberian_Dawn\CFEPatch

12. Open the CONFIG.INI file with Notepad++ or any other text editor program to make changes, make sure there are no typos in the file before saving and make sure to save and fully close the text editor program before going back to the game.

13. Start up the game and now you can play any skirmish or campaign mission offline (no multiplayer with mods active) and enjoy the mod and play with your customized mod settings.
