Command & Conquer™ Remastered Collection

CFE Patch
Do not allow empty orcas to attack
If you order empty orca to attack it will fly to enemy just to had back to base immidiatelly. instead of allowing them to do so just ignore attack order and move to base.

Also, you can send orca to base by pressing guard button, but this only works if it's in the air. Should be good to add this if it's on the ground too

Sounds good to me. I'll add it to the list.

Nice!

If you have an aircraft on the ground and set it to guard, does it not then guard that area..? Surely that would be the intended behaviour.

I think it only functions as an RTB whilst in flight for the same reason that a stop order does: aircraft aren't allowed to idle mid-air and will fly home when out of commands.

Actually there is no such thing as guard mode for aircraft at all - whether there is an enemy nearby or not, on the ground or in the air it does not matter. But yes, essentially now guard button does the same as stop - nothing on the ground and RTB in the air. So maybe it would be better to make stop act as RTB and guard as an actual guard mode, be it in the air or on the ground/helipad

I concur, it would be very useful to be able to tell your Orcas to hover above a point and guard it from any enemies that come near that point.

Allowing aircraft to idle in the air would be quite a big change to the gameplay - can't say I'd be in favour of that to be honest. Retaliating if attacked whilst landed would be nice though.

Howering in place is overkill I think :) could be like landed on the ground and lift off when enemy is in range to blast him off

You're right it would be overkill. But, I approve of any sort of mode where the landed Orca or Nod Attack Helicopter units could protect the player's buildings from enemy ground units that get too close, or guard whatever part of the map the player orders them to from enemy units.

I think that would have to be part of a larger feature. Guard range and behaviour is pretty undesirable across the board, with most units probably benefiting from some tweaks.

If we're looking at that kind of thing though my personal priorities would be having units automatically fire upon enemies in range (whether in guard mode or not!) and retaliate against incoming fire (moving into range of necessary).

I completely agree with everything you just said.
