Command & Conquer™ Remastered Collection

Command & Conquer™ Remastered Collection

CFE Patch
Pathfinding improvements
1) make so units change their targeted position faster. e.g. when you command unit to attack another moving unit it will first go to enemy's original position and only then will try to go after the current enemy's position. another example of this is when you command infantry to get in the apc and send apc closer to them. infantry will first go to apc's original position and only then go to current apc position

2) make so that units ignore any other frendly unit that is also moving while making a path. this should elliminate bridge bottleneck situations when units begin to search a new path when bridge is temporarily blocked by moving units. this is how it works in tiberian sun. if the path is blocked by an enemy units player's units should still try to go through it destroying any obstackles on it's path

1) This appears to be situational based on the mission issued to the unit. I can probably improve it for APCs but attacking/rallying already do this.
2) They already do this in the unmodded game, but I believe there's a bug where it also ignores units that are moving towards the pathing object. This is why you end up with two harvesters running into each other on bridges.

2) This is somewhat true for infantry - they indeed try to preserve on and only path, but not for vehicles - they will always try to choose different route if it's available.
Here's some vids I made:

Infantry: they can walk along the line through bridges, but won't move if moving towards another units

Vehicles: they can move along the bridge only if it's the only path. If several paths are available they will choose another one. Also, if they are blocking each other's way they will try to move, but seems like can only move one unit, and moved unit will not move any other units resulting in a jam.

I think this is because you can have multiple infantry on one cell, so as long as there aren't 5 immobile on a cell at once the infantry will "believe" they can path forward where vehicles do not.

They both have the same issue with units moving in the opposite direction one cell away still count as moving for path finding checks though.

Yeah, but they will not seek another path when the one in front of them is blocked
