F.A.Q - Splatoon Character Cycles
Search what you want by pressing Ctrl+F and search the keyword(s) related to your question/issue.

I've been receiving so many questions about these cycles over the past couple of months due to people not knowing how to use these cycles or how they even work to begin with. I may not be able to resolve every single specific question that you may have, however these are the list of the most common, questions, solution and tips to save you from a headache.

Q: What are these cycles?
A: These cycles are character cycles that you can import into the original splatoon characters to save you the headache of having to animate and loop them yourself, they work even better for background stuff.

Q: How do I use these cycles and how do I import them?
A: [SFM] How To Import Animations Into The SFM

Q: Whenever I import the cycles, they disappear, why?
A: Whenever you import the cycles, they use the default point in which they were first animated, in this case, if the animation was imported with the roottransform animation, the model will teleport to the reference point. The center of stage.bsp in this case so either spawn and move them to position, or import the animation without having the roottransform selected.

Q: Do these cycles work for the V.2 Inkling/Octoling models or the normal models?
A: No, these scripts only work for the original splatoon models ported by FissionMetroid101. And only in the IK variants. FK models do not work as their bone structure is different.

Q: My inkling/octoling model is walking in place and not moving.
A: The model is animated as an idle cycle, if you wish to actually move them, animate the roottransform bone.

Q: I can't find the files to import the cycles, where are they?
A: Go to your steam folder - Source Filmmaker/workshop/elements/vexxi/animations/ and choose whichever cycle you wish to import

Q: Will you ever update these cycles to the newer models or the 2.0 models on the workshop?
A: Sadly no, I will only update this workshop pack with cycles for the original characters, as most new models currently have rig issues and are too inconsistent.

Q: Can I use your cycles for a video or a poster I want to do?
A: Sure thing, you can use them at your leisure, I would appreciate also if you are going to use them to link my YT or this workshop page atleast.
Remember that I made these cycles to save time with animation, especially background characters, however if you want to improve as an animator, I highly encourage you to practice making your own.

Q: When i put the animation in my model the model looks mess up and it looks like its moving its feet and hands but not its whole body. what should i do?
A: You're importing the animation to an FK variant of the model, which has a different bone structure than the IK models, keep in mind these cycles are made for only IK models.(They don't have to be rigged though)

Q: Help, my question or issue is not in this F.A.Q section.
A: Do not worry, leave your question in the comment section and I will do my best to resolve it for you, you can also browse the forums, you may find your answer there and faster too.

Keep in mind that the main purpose I made these cycles for is to save time in animation, especially with background animation, as always, I encourage you to animate a cycle yourself, it is the best way to improve as an animator.

Any suggestions, feedback, and of course, questions are welcomed.

@Keenarn196 You're importing the animation to an FK model, which has a different bone structure, these cycles only work for the IK variants of the models.

@Keenarn196 yes, you need the models that are in the "required" section, and also use the IK variants of them.

@keenanr196 Yes, using the "unknown" tab, you can manupulate the facial flexes and the mouth,

Iam using the Models from FissionMetroid101 but they still look weird ;-;

I'm sorry if I bother you with that

You may be using the FK variant of the model, the animations are mostly only for the IK variants of the rigs, applying them to FK rigs causes many parts to not move properly or not move at all ^^
