A third-party Mod-Developer revoked his ok for using parts of his mod and DMCA-striked the Rise of Nations mod. Atleast that was pinned on the update-information yesterday.

this mod is better than the original rise of nation game lmao
I think is because of the menu music, if is Hearts of Iron by Two Steps From Hell, its a copyright music and not a copyright free one.

It's the space stuff, it's similar to another mod and they went in the comments and started talking ♥♥♥♥ to the developers of this awesome mod.

The thing goes like this: we got permission to use assets from Cold War Iron Curtain (CWIC). We did take some of their sprites including Space tech tree icon. But CWIC used some icons from Sabretooth (makers of Fatherland). But we didn't know that and took the tech tree icon belonging to Sabertooth. Sabertooth then set DMCA upon us and asked us to remove it. We did, but CWID canceled their permission so we are now removing their stuff too. Right now, I'm waiting for Valve to contact me so I can explain everything and get the DMCA down.

Why would the team from "Cold War: Iron Curtain" forbid the use of their assets if, according to their Workshop page, the mod isn't updated since February 2019?

Well thanks for keeping us in the loop. I really like what this mod is doing and can't wait for it to be fleshed out.

The cold war mod is still being developed and is also planned to at least be released either next week or somewhere in April so I'm guessing some sprites are still being used for placeholders or other stuff.
