PS: I've been having this issue for a while, but my game crashed once because of it so I decided that it is important to report it
I played with the settings and setting "smooth render area on change (set smoothing steps)" to a low value (in this case 0) and settings "pixels per cell (for image resolution)" to higher values (41 and above) seem to cause this error.

1. When having Camera+, dont zoom out too much. Make sure the map still shows pawns and animals and then press the manually render hotkey.
2. When not having Camera+, Progress Renderer should work fine I think. If not, try zoom in to you pawns or animals and then press the manually render hotkey.
Both ways work fine for me while having 200+ animals and pawns
