Save file crash
Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue where my game crashes whenever I try to load older save files. These save files are about a week old, when i played them last week they just worked fine. Save files from a new game can be loaded without any issues.

Is there a fix for this, or a way to recover older saves? Or do I have to start completely fresh?

Did you use a submod? If so, you need to load that submod to play that save file.

No, i dont use any submods.

From my 10+ years playing this:

- Corrupted saves are gone forever in EAW
- Do not save in battles or close to beginning or end of week/cycle (2 ticks away should be fine) - this is the only case that is believed to cause multiple save file corruptions
- There are other exotic cases suspected of causing (single) save corruptions, but not going into that here and now, reddit has whole threads on that

yep, all my saves for my playthrough are crashing on load, rip and gg to a week of playing,
