Survival... Impossible

Milestone thread / unique builds
Thought it would be interesting to have something covering what people playing this scenario are getting up to.

First time left Omicron. Remote launched smallgrid refueling tanker and the little miner that barely made the first dock on fumes.
Launch

Mars? Top left is the weirdest space miner I have ever built with the rear section consisting of 2 drone bodies, still missing a number of thrusters unfortunately.

Rear is my refinery ship made from 4 wrecks merged together mostly to get the 11 hydrogen tanks. My 1st miner still being used for atmo ventures docked on top.
Then a upgraded and much abused captured reaver ship that caught me napping/building too close to a mayday signal.

Mars

I've been looking for an underground Iron ore deposit on Omicron, and marked out the boulders in ~100 km^2 area, so I don't have to scout the same locations multiple times.

I did eventually find one, just not in the area in this screenshot:

(The blue tint and darkness comes from Darker Vanilla Sky.)

That's some dedication marking the boulders.

Partially re-built ship having finally reached Alien planet. Captured a Reaver Heavy which made a nice engine system.

Hmm... Why the alien planet?.. Uranium?

I haven't yet come up with a reason to go to space... Just getting a medbay seems insufficient, or perhaps I'm intentionally trying to steer away from the progression in Splitsie's series. So, sticking to the surface for now.

Here's a mobile drilling platform - designed in Creative, built in SI. (Not on the Workshop yet.)

Still ways to go - need to fuel it with hydrogen, make a trek (~13 km) to the iron deposit, and come back. Perhaps then I can go to space, or maybe get to that trading station I spotted on a recon mission.

P.S. Made three recordings while trying to attach the drill bit to the piston rig, maybe I'll publish a blooper reel.

Gold mostly, Uranium not so much but I took a load before running from the raining spiders.

My early playthrough where I left omni and landed on the saturn-like planet. Just to see what it was like,

My newest playthrough I spent much of the playthrough with a small grid ship. But ultimately failed to find a single magnesium outside omni. My goal this time was a small grid you could walk around inside.

I flew this ship from omi where I built it, to omi's ice moon to the mars-like planet that is past the blue saturn. It took like 5-7 irl hours or something nuts from the ice moon to the mars-like.

The only time I almost lost this ship was vs a pirate vulture attack, with it + its 3-4 drones.
