Star Trek: New Civilisations
Question about gene modding
I love this mod and I always prefered it over New Horizons, since I like to play Stellaris in Star Trek and not Star Trek in Stellaris, but... after taking long break from Stellaris and returning few days ago I found that Gene Modding tradition is LOCKED for Federation - Historicaly locked.

Why is that? Or is there any option to remove this lock?

Honestly, I don't wish for NC to go the same road as NH, where everfything is locked and Star Trek pure....

So, my question is, is this lock bypasable or not and if it is then how?

It was banned in the Federation after the augment wars on Earth. (the whole Khan story line going back as far as pre-federation Earth)

Yes it was, but what about it? Its STELLARIS, not Star Trek recreation and this is my point, here, not why it was done in canon. This mod, New Civilization was always flexible (up to some point allowing for gene modding too), allowing players to do a more or less free Stellaris game in a Star Trek world, but somehow it is starting to be the same as New Horizon, a purist Star Trek in a Stellareis universe, and that is sad, because if I wish a purist mod, I download NH, not SC!

You know Star Trek erased any minor human factions who was not Egalitarian, Pacifists and Xenophiles... any minor colony that was shown in the series was erased. Yeah, equality for all, but only if they bend and accept our rules (Federation Council).

Anyway, my original question is; in the mod this ban is bypasable aka optional or fixed?
If you go Terra Prime or Terran Empire I am quite sure you can make augments. About the only way currently to do it. Unless you can change Federation policies which may require a government change???

True, Terra Prime or Terran Empire can, but Federation/United Earth can't, I think its hard codded, since even if I change policies, then gene modding is still hard locked.

Ps: Still thank you for replies and advice.

You might be able to if you change government type away from Federation system. I'm not even sure if this is possible.

its not. I switched Pacifism to Materialism, yet gene modding ban still stands, so im afraid its hard codded to an origin setting and that is sad, sigh.

Eventually we're adding some leader specific events that will allow players to remove the historic ban.

I hope so, since I love this mod and I love to play alternate Ferderation (but not any Terra nonsense), so for now I play alternate Klingons. Anyway, thank you for reply.
