Star Trek: New Civilisations
[3.9.2] Event crash - Pakleds Samaritan Snare
I have an early game (2153) event crash.
I got through the first stage of the event with no problem.
When it gives me the choice confront/beam back to ship, clicking any option crashes the whole game. Pressing ESC to close the event window crashes too.

No other mods. STNC is in its own "mod instance" from the launcher thingy.

All DLC except Nemesis, Overlord and various species packs

Running Stellaris on Linux Mint.

If Steam allows the link, the save file is here:
Save file stored on PCloud [e.pcloud.link]

These are the options on screen when it crashes, so we're on part 2 of the event:
STNC_samaritan_snare_event.2.a: "Beam the Captain back."
STNC_samaritan_snare_event.2.b: "Confront the Pakled."

I've had a quick look through STNC_anomaly_samaritanSnare.txt and STNC_events_l_english.yml, and can not spot any obvious errors or reasons.

If I load an earlier save, I can get past the date, because different events/anomalies have shown up.

[EDIT] From looking at main Stellaris Forums, looks like there's recurring event crashes on Linux and MacOS in the newest updates, from ~5th October onwards - so it's quite possible this is a base-game issue and not an issue with your mod!

[EDIT2] Rolling the version back from 3.9.2 to 3.9.1 allows the event line to be completed successfully

Hmm, yeah it's been hard to diagnose non-WIndows crashes in the past. I'll see if I can replicate on Windows, but if not it sounds like it might be something we need PDS to address. :)
Looking at their forums, it's Paradox's problem, not yours. The same is happening with the base game.

Working fine with 3.9.1 for now though - I've played for literally hours, thanks :)
