I realise, of course, that it's a game and creators are limited to the game's programming to an extent, so there's no way to make it entirely lore-friendly. But I'd love an update or mode in which as much canonical law as possible is followed. United Earth starting with NX ships, for instance. I also wonder if there's some way of making it possible to change Admirals to Scientists - for instance, James Kirk and Jean-Luc Picard spawn as Admirals, so they can't command one of the exploration cruisers. I know others have pointed it out, but are there priorities for which civilisations spawn as a priority? I keep ending up with Anticans, Husnock and Efrosians, but no Bajorans or Bolians.

Don't forget the game starts before the first episode of ENT.

Leaders cannot change classes outside of being elected to ruler. If we had a bit more flexibility with how leaders worked, I'd do more here to make leaders able to take multiple jobs without things going weird.

Some countries are guaranteed to spawn (the Majors plus a handful of others). The rest are on an equal random weighting.

What about adding a switch, or whatever similar things, to allow players to, I don't know, choose what class they want the new leaders to be?

Or an event to allow class shifting, which is actually deleting the old leader and spawning a new leader with the same age and traits?

Deleting and re-spawning causes issues as not all of the hidden flags and variables will be copied along. This can break event chains.
