(I'm a major RPG player at heart which is why I bring it up. Its what drew me to this mod
Unfortunately, and as far as I know, the marriage mechanic for this game is random. It doesn't work normally as an ancillary with triggers and such. Believe me, if you've seen the trigger link that I uploaded, you'll see that I take context and RPG seriously as well so I'm on you with that. The good news is, as evidenced by this patch, CA is still working on the marriage mechanic.
I think they opted to make them random for this patch just to get them rolling as having them fire randomly = better than not having them fire at all as in previous patches.
Thanks for the feedback.
Hi MalleusCheatersum,
As I stated in the description, we will be replacing all of them eventually. There are currently 800 vanilla ancillaries and it takes quite some time to create a unique portrait for all of them. The next update for the Roman ancillaries alone, we had to make around 100 new portraits.
We just ask users to be patient as we release them incrementally (hopefully every week). I find that it's a small negative compared to never seeing the same portrait twice again as it breaks immersion too much.
I'm glad you're enjoying it though!
Not at all, I'm actually anticipating them because I'm pretty sure a patch for politics/family tree MIGHT be coming soon because it's such a popular feature that everyone else is clamoring for.
If you're concerned about patch compatibility, I can say that it's one of the nice things about working with TTT. CA barely touches it with each patch that it's always compatible even without me updating it. Now, if/when they do a similar character-focused patch, then maybe we'll have issues, but I'll update it promptly, no worries.
Most of my updates come out Sunday/Monday barring anything big that comes up in real life. I've met that soft "deadline" for the past 4 updates when I was still in Total War center.
V.1.5, which will deal with Roman ancillary spam fix/overhaul and possibly dynamic governor XP triggers is right on track and is about 50-60% of the way done. Should be finished over the weekend.
Thanks for the feedback!
You are really, really a good modder.
Rome 2 could be perfect - but only with modders like you ! .
But think on your health ! Modding every day can be very hard for your body , Sports are real necessary for PC workers !
Best regards .....
1) Will you be adding an overhauled skill set for agents as well?
2) Can you make it so we see the entire upgrade tree when selecting an upgrade, like we had in SHOGUN?
Again,thanks.
1. Yes, we are eventually planning on updating the agents in a similar manner to generals. However, we still have a lot of ground to cover for generals.
2. I am currently trying to figure out how to make the game look at the encyclopedia on the hard drive rather than the one online. I am not sure if it is possible, but hopefully one day we can have in-game explanations for the skills. I know that is a vague answer but it is not clear if the encyclopedia is editable currently.
Yes, if you both have the mod subscribed and activated in Mod Manager then it will work in coop.
