Feedback and Suggestions
Think some ancillaries show up too much? Ideas for a feature? Any cool ideas?

Sound off in this thread.

I had an idea while playing and I don't know if its even possible to implement, but one of my generals is going on 30 years old and he just got married. But his 'wife' (the lame little card) ended up being the crazy old bat that flogs slaves or whatever. The problem is that that particular general is a softy compared to the others. He occupies peacefully and always releases captives. Seeing as how this mod adds some RPG-esque features to our generals is there any way to set it up so that the player chooses the 'wife' card that a general gets? It just kind of irked me that my fair and just general got stuck with the crazy wife.
(I'm a major RPG player at heart which is why I bring it up. Its what drew me to this mod :beatmeat: )

Love the mod! My only wish is that i could keep original icons for retinues and skill when at all possible, if just for uniformity sake.

Hi Skiptomylou,

Unfortunately, and as far as I know, the marriage mechanic for this game is random. It doesn't work normally as an ancillary with triggers and such. Believe me, if you've seen the trigger link that I uploaded, you'll see that I take context and RPG seriously as well so I'm on you with that. The good news is, as evidenced by this patch, CA is still working on the marriage mechanic.

I think they opted to make them random for this patch just to get them rolling as having them fire randomly = better than not having them fire at all as in previous patches.

Thanks for the feedback.

Hi MalleusCheatersum,

As I stated in the description, we will be replacing all of them eventually. There are currently 800 vanilla ancillaries and it takes quite some time to create a unique portrait for all of them. The next update for the Roman ancillaries alone, we had to make around 100 new portraits.

We just ask users to be patient as we release them incrementally (hopefully every week). I find that it's a small negative compared to never seeing the same portrait twice again as it breaks immersion too much.

I'm glad you're enjoying it though!

Yeh, i know your point mate, it`s cool, but your work isn`t only mod out there and different modders use different art stles, etc. It`s cool arts you got there i actually love it, don`t get me wrong, but haveing an option would be awesome. But meh, it`s no priority to be sure. Keep up great work and thank you.

Thanks for your hard work man. I am pretty pumped about this mod since that was my biggest gripe with this game (along with the missing family tree). Not to be pessimistic, but do you anticipate any trouble keeping up with all the CA patches that are coming out?
Dimasalang  [developer] 19 Oct, 2013 @ 1:55pm
Hi Azael,

Not at all, I'm actually anticipating them because I'm pretty sure a patch for politics/family tree MIGHT be coming soon because it's such a popular feature that everyone else is clamoring for.

If you're concerned about patch compatibility, I can say that it's one of the nice things about working with TTT. CA barely touches it with each patch that it's always compatible even without me updating it. Now, if/when they do a similar character-focused patch, then maybe we'll have issues, but I'll update it promptly, no worries.

Most of my updates come out Sunday/Monday barring anything big that comes up in real life. I've met that soft "deadline" for the past 4 updates when I was still in Total War center.

V.1.5, which will deal with Roman ancillary spam fix/overhaul and possibly dynamic governor XP triggers is right on track and is about 50-60% of the way done. Should be finished over the weekend.

Thanks for the feedback!

You are really, really a good modder.

Rome 2 could be perfect - but only with modders like you ! .

But think on your health ! Modding every day can be very hard for your body , Sports are real necessary for PC workers !

Best regards .....

Hey,first of all thanks a million, the weak general improvements were my biggest disappointments and this goes a huge way towards fixing that. 2 things...
1) Will you be adding an overhauled skill set for agents as well?
2) Can you make it so we see the entire upgrade tree when selecting an upgrade, like we had in SHOGUN?
Again,thanks.
Dresden  [developer] 19 Oct, 2013 @ 8:37pm
Hi Green Raven,

1. Yes, we are eventually planning on updating the agents in a similar manner to generals. However, we still have a lot of ground to cover for generals.

2. I am currently trying to figure out how to make the game look at the encyclopedia on the hard drive rather than the one online. I am not sure if it is possible, but hopefully one day we can have in-game explanations for the skills. I know that is a vague answer but it is not clear if the encyclopedia is editable currently.
Green Raven 19 Oct, 2013 @ 8:40pm
Thanks. Im actually not talking about the encyclopedia...Im talking about being seeing all skills at once whenselecting a new skill:both what is immidiatly availible and what the next skill down the line is.
Dimasalang  [developer] 19 Oct, 2013 @ 10:42pm
Green Raven, we would if we could. But CA has replaced that feature with the encyclopedia.
Green Raven 20 Oct, 2013 @ 6:59am
Ah ok. Thanks a million!

would this mod work in a Co-op campiagn if my partner also had this mod installed?
Dresden  [developer] 20 Oct, 2013 @ 6:38pm
Lord Rexasaur,

Yes, if you both have the mod subscribed and activated in Mod Manager then it will work in coop.
Ēarendel 22 Oct, 2013 @ 12:53am
I'm not downloading this yet before I finish my campaign, afterwards i'll replay this and see if it gives the game more taste. Is it possible for you to add new ancillary's? That would be cool.
